To all Firefighters, Curlers, and Supporters, February 25, 2021 It is with great disappointment that we must announce the cancellation of our annual New Brunswick Firefighters’ Metalfab Curling Championship. We attempted postponing the date in hopes that the pandemic and restrictions related to it would allow us to play in March. Unfortunately, sporting activities are still not allowed and the province has indicated that it will not be returning to the yellow recovery phase before all vulnerable persons have been vaccinated. Many curling clubs have closed for the season including the Miramichi curling club. Miramichi Fire and local 5087 has agreed to host us in 2022. Dates will be forwarded as soon as we know them, and the hotel will be the same. We will be accepting bids for hosting locations in 2023, and 2024. Please feel free to contact any member of the executive for more information. To all curlers, supporters, sponsors and organizers we would like to extend our gratitude in trying to hold this event. The provincial firefighters curling is a highly anticipated event by many, and this year was no different. We hope to see you all in good health and good spirits next January in Miramichi. Stay tuned to our Facebook page, website, and our newsletters for information. Adam Murphy Provincial director, NBFFCA nbffca@gmail.com 506-440-9229 |
